In 'Tension', I functioned as a visual choreographer, creating a unique language of movement that is the outcome of a verbal dialogue between the photographed dancer and I. Photography's inherent power lies in its ability to capture a single moment whereas dance is necessarily a series of continuous movements. In this work I try to combine the quintessential essence of these two art forms.
Layering the images is a meticulous and often surprising digital process made of trial and error.
